Daisy colony at Pippettes Farm - Bellis perennis
We pick these every week and the supply is infinite!
At Pippettes we focus on our ‘remedy on your doorstep’ ethos and use what’s local and what we grow.
Daisy has gone out of fashion over the years, but is a wonderful little flower with so much to offer.
- In a tea, it can soothe indigestion ( especially if overeating is the cause) acts as a mild diuretic to reduce swelling and acts as a gentle bitter and laxative.
- It’s a known remedy for coughs and colds too.
- I love it for its topical anti-inflammatory properties, reducing bruised tissue and healing wounds.
- It’s a wonderful addition to skin balms to help soothe and heal eczema and psoriasis.
At Pippettes Farm we pick and immediately dry the flowers to preserve the active constituents.
Once dried they are stored for teas, made into tinctures and infused in oils.
